The main mission of the Ukrainian Demining Foundation (hereinafter, UDF) is to clear the territory of Ukraine of mines and unexploded ordnance. To achieve this goal, the foundation plans to start recruitment and training of demining specialists, purchase the necessary equipment and pass the state certification required for demining teams. In the future, UDF will take over the function of financial and logistical support of the demining teams in their work of clearing the contaminated with explosives Ukrainian land. In addition, considering the enormous volume of required demining activity, our team is trying to modernize the national guidelines for clearing areas from explosives in order to speed up the demining process, making it more comprehensive, which means - safer and more efficient. We may assume that the comprehensive approach should expand capabilities of demining teams by employing various modern demining technologies and methods, including mechanization and mine-detecting dogs, etc. All the mine actions of UDF will be performed in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service and the international humanitarian foundations that take care of the issues of clearing the territory of Ukraine from explosives.
